This seaside town of Sanlúcar De Barrameda also boasts of being the home of old horse races in Spain and even some of the oldest races in all of Europe. These horse races happen along the beach especially at the mouth of the river Guadalquivir. It can be witnessed annually every August with the participation of a thousand of people in the audience along with the presence of a beautiful sunset. These races are the first-ever in Spain to be regulated and where riders wear different colors and caps and cover the distances of about 1500 and 1800 metres.
